Description
Alright, here is the second piece in the 'time of the Storm' cover series.
About the story, this is some kind of crossover... ish. the main plot of this story is that there are worlds existing on the edge of ours, separated from us by something called the Mist. and in the depths of the Mist, there is a kingdom where Merlin found refuge after the fall of Camelot: Avalon. He was joined by his closest pupil, Morgana. There they found a recreated version of Camelot, that lasts forever. But, now, there is an enemy that even the great Merlin cannot defeat alone. He decides to call for help. As a result, the whole Castle of Hogwarts is transported to Avalon. Now, Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and Alexander Lockenburn must meet the legend of their world, the one and only Merlin, while the people of Avalon meets these wizard coming from the distant and legendary world of "England".
To illustrate the separation between two worlds, I used a background that I did NOT create, so credits are due: on the left, the Castle of Hogwarts comes from a promotional image of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, at Universal Studios. on the right, to stand for Avalon, I used the picture, by digital-fantasy: digital-fantasy.deviantart.com…. Hope he won't mind.
Now, about the sword... again, I didn't create the design, but I used, with his kind permission, the creation of aikurisu: aikurisu.deviantart.com/art/Re….
It is meant to represent my vision of Excalibur. As you can see, I worked a little on it, but the original idea was his. Thanks for the permission!

On to the cast:
Harry Potter, in the top background, is still based on Daniel Radcliffe and Hermione Granger, is still based on Emma Watson (duh!).
On the other side of the sword, we have Merlin and Morgana; I based Merlin on Liam Neeson, as his look in Wrath of the Titans as Zeus pretty much matched my view of Merlin's character.
Morgana, who, in my story, is a much more positive figure (a little like Marion Zimmer Bradley's take on her), is based on a glamour shot of Kate Winslet, just because... she's an awesome actress and a beautiful woman.
Now, on Hogwarts' side, we have Ian Malcolm (based on Charlie Rowe), in the back, in ravenclaw robes. He's still our main young hero, and he's in his last year in Hogwarts.
Then we have Kieran McDougall, Ian's girlfriend and best friend for years before that (based roughly on Georgia Henley, but with a few tweaks), dressed in avalonian robes, as a guest of Arthur's Court.
And on the foreground, we have Kenneth Lionheart (based on a younger Garrett Hedlund), Auror in training and Wandmaster, and your regular hero, who has inherited a title: Merlin's Knight.
On the other side of the sword, opposite Kenneth, is the first holder of the title: Johan the Lionheart, first of Kenneth's bloodline. I used the same picture of reference to create Johan, but I had to heavily modify it.
Behind Johan is Alwena Silverleaf, a character created by my pal RedlanceEQ, which I use in our shared fanfic universe. She's not from Avalon, she's from Hogwarts, but she finds her true place in the mythical kingdom, by striking a friendship with Anarth, the silver dragon that can be seen behind her. for Alwena, I used a pose by Alexa Davalos in Wrath of the titans, the rest of the design is mine.

Done in Painter 12 and photoshop CS3.
Nothing in the HP universe is actually mine, sadly. but the OC's are, safe for Alwena.
Hope you'll like it.

I’d like to read this if it’s ever made/has been made. It’s a well drawn cover with a great choice of cast if it were a real movie.
